NORRIS DOMINATES RED MILEY RUMBLE AT PPMS

IMPERIAL, PA - Michael Norris of Sarver, Pa., grabbed an early lead from the outside pole and led all 35 laps en route to a $5,053 victory in the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series Red Miley Rumble at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Norris crossed the finish line 3.493 seconds ahead of runner-up Alex Ferree.

The victory was Norris' third Red Miley Rumble victory in as many tries as he has had to win the event. As a result of the victory Norris is now eligible for a provisional for the Pittsburgher 100 in October sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Dirt Series. If Norris qualifies for the event, the provisional will go to the highest finishing driver from the Red Miley Rumble who does not qualify for the Pittsburgher 100.

Current Ultimate Northeast points leader Jared Miley had an eventful night en route to a 12th place finish. While leading his heat race, Miley's right front shock broke while entering turn three sending him hard into the guardrail.

The bonus money that Norris received for the victory was as a result of him competing in the Herb Scott Memorial on June 30th, and event in which he was leading before a flat tire sent him pitside with seven laps to go. $1,000 of the bonus came from Steven Heiser, while $1,053 came from Miley Motorsports.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Northeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday July 21st as the Series will return to Hagerstown Speedway located in Hagerstown, Maryland for the annual "Red Nininger Memorial" event paying $5,000 to win.

NORRIS' MISFORTUNE IS MILEY'S GAIN AT PPMS

IMPERIAL, PA - Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pa., picked up his second Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series victory by winning the Herb Scott Memorial at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The victory was worth $3,000 for Miley who took the lead on lap 23 when race leader Michael Norris blew a right rear tire with a straightaway lead.

Alex Ferree led the first lap of the event from his pole starting position before Norris pulled a big slider on him and second-running Miley to take the lead on lap two. From there, Norris began to pull away from the field.

Norris had a straightaway advantage on Miley and had lapped up to the sixth place running machine of Matt Cosner before blowing a right rear tire on lap 23 bringing out the first caution of the event.

On the restart second-running Ferree attempted on Miley, but Miley powered off the second corner and began to pull away. Kyle Lee reeled in Miley slightly late, but Miley was able to pick up the victory by about 10-12 car lengths.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Northeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday July 14th as the Series will return to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway located in Imperial, Pennsylvania for the annual "Red Miley Memorial" event paying $3,000 to win.

YODER SOARS TO HOMETOWN VICTORY AT SELINSGROVE IN THE SHOWDOWN ON SAND HILL

SELINSGROVE, PA - Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, Pa., picked up the popular hometown victory earlier tonight at the Selinsgrove Speedway by winning the Showdown on Sand Hill event sanctioned by the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series. The victory for Yoder was worth $3,000.

Yoder passed early race leader and pole sitter Bryan Bernheisel on lap five and led the rest of the 30 lap distance to pick up the victory. The first caution of the event flew at the halfway mark on lap 15. On the restart, Jason Covert jumped into second, but couldn't quite get past Yoder despite some charges on the high side.

With seven laps to go, Jason Covert slowed to a stop while battling for second with Jared Miley. On the restart, Miley made a bid to the outside on Yoder and pulled in front of him in the middle of turns one and two, but Yoder powered back into the lead down the back stretch and would lead the rest of the distance to pick up the win.

Series action continues next Saturday night with a bonus race for the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series as the Ultimate Super Late Model Series sanctions the USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Va., paying $20,000 to win.

ECKERT SWEEPS WEIKERT MEMORIAL AT PORT ROYAL FOR $5,000 VICTORY

PORT ROYAL, PA - Rick Eckert of York, Pa., picked up his second straight Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series feature victory by leading all 35 laps of night two of the Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. Eckert picked up $5,000 for his victory after he won the opener worth $3,000 on Saturday night. Track officials did a great job working the track in after a lengthy rain delay earlier in the night, but the track provided a smooth fast surface.

The race saw Eckert jump out to an early lead before a yellow on lap one for Chris Casner who spun in turn four. Jeff Rine jumped into second on the restart and set his sights on catching leader Eckert. A yellow on lap three, and another yellow on lap nine came out for Jason Covert who was suffering mechanical woes. By lap 14, Rine had caught Eckert and was pressuring him as Eckert developed a bad push in his race car. The caution flew on lap 14 as Jared Miley suffered mechanical woes and collected Andy Haus who spun to avoid Miley. By lap 15 the race's hard charger Kyle Lee had worked his way from his 20th starting position to fourth, where he would ultimately finish. A yellow on lap 16 for Mike Lupfer was the final yellow of the event.

From there Eckert pulled away from the field through lapped traffic winning by a straightaway at the finish. World of Outlaws sprint car champion Donny Schatz picked up his second straight fifth place finish.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Northeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday June 9th as the Series will travel to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to Selinsgrove Speedway for a event paying $3,000 to win.

ECKERT STORMS TO BOB WEIKERT MEMORIAL NIGHT ONE VICTORY

PORT ROYAL, PA - Rick Eckert of York, Pa., led all 30 laps to pick up his first career Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series victory by picking up the $3,000 check on night one of the Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. Eckert took the lead from the drop of the green from his outside pole starting position, and cruised to victory from finishing 4.766 seconds ahead of runner-up finisher Gary Stuhler of Greencastle, Pa.

Eckert beat polesitter Jason Covert into turn one and never looked back but the battle behind Eckert was fierce as Covert and Jeff Rine battled hard for the second position for the first part of the race before a yellow came out near the midway point for Andy Haus who slowed to a stop on the front stretch. Eckert pulled away on the restart and mastered his way through traffic the rest of the way. Gary Stuhler got by Rine on the restart and tried to run down Eckert but to no avail. Stuhler held off a hard charging Dylan Yoder at the end of the event to finish second.

Jason Covert was the fast qualifier on the night with a lap of 19.609 seconds. Kyle Lee was the hard charger as he advanced 12 positions from his 21st starting position to finish ninth.

MILEY ROLLS TO THIRD "EARL HILL MEMORIAL" VICTORY

MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, picked up his second career Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series victory and first Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Region victory in the "30th Annual Earl Hill Memorial" Saturday at Tyler County Speedway worth $5,000.

Miley passed early race leader Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, West Virginia just as the two were entering lap traffic early in the event. After several attempts to overtake Carpenter for the lead early in the event were overcome by Carpenter, traffic is just what the doctor ordered as Miley began to pull away from the field over the rest of the distance.

The event was slowed by just one caution flag for Cody Rogers who slowed to a stop in turn four around the halfway mark. After the yellow, Miley was able to pull away the rest of the distance winning the feature by over a straightaway.

Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, West Virginia was the hard charger of the event advancing from his ninth starting position to finish in fourth.

Ultimate Northeast and Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley officials pushed the show along with the threat of weather imminent throughout the day and were able to get the entire show in without a hitch.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Northeast Region will be back in action again on Saturday May 26th and Sunday May 27th as the Series will travel to Port Royal, Pennsylvania to Port Royal Speedway for two events. FASTRAK COMPANIES INTERNATIONAL GEARS UP FOR 15TH YEAR IN BUSINESS

CARNESVILLE, GA - When the green flag flies on February 9, 2018 at Screven Motor Speedway, FASTRAK Companies International will be entering its 15th year in business. It all started because Stan Lester, FASTRAK founder, knew that the highest costs in late model racing were the engines and tires. With the idea that those costs could be controlled, the corporation was formed late in 2003 and held its first ever race, with five cars, on April 3, 2004 at Winder Barrow Speedway in Winder, GA. It was then that the idea by Lester came to fruition.

“All five cars piled up in turn one after the white flag,” said Lester, “The track owner asked me, having never directed a race in my life, “What are you going to do?”, I told the drivers that the first one back to the finish line was the winner. You have never seen such a crazy dash to the finish in your life. It was a humble beginning to say the least.”

During that 2004 season FASTRAK saw tremendous growth. The second event had 18 cars, the third had 22, and the final race of the inaugural season had 51 cars at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, GA.

The very next season saw the birth of the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Region. Sticking with the initial mission of controlling the two most expensive components in racing, engines and tires, FASTRAK now uses the Chevrolet Performance CT 400 (604) engine, an affordable engine that offers 450 horsepower. FASTRAK has worked side by side with Chevrolet Performance to ensure that the engine remains affordable and dependable. To address the costs associated with tires, FASTRAK worked with Hoosier Tire to develop the FT Crate Spec tires known as the FT 200 and FT 400. The FT tires are the cheapest and best performing crate spec tires currently on the market.

“We have stuck to our original mission statement of controlling the cost of the engines and tires, and the 604 and 602 crate engines have met and exceeded all expectations, along with the FT Crate Spec tires” said Lester.

In 2011 the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series was born with the Southeast Region. ULTIMATE itself has since expanded into three more regions, the Battle of the Bluegrass, Mid-Ohio Valley, and Northeast. In total, FASTRAK Companies International now has six regions of dirt late model tours along with its Weekly Sanctioning of tracks throughout the eastern part of the United States. All parts of the FASTRAK family of racing, have a common goal; help tracks make money and give back to the drivers. The following Tuesday after any FASTRAK or ULTIMATE race, the regional director contacts the track with once simple question, “Did you make money?”.

“Our goal is simple,” stated FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “help tracks make money with successful events, give back to the drivers, and make certain the fans make memories at the race track.”

Over the course of the past 14 years, FASTRAK Companies International has paid out over $4,300,000 in Championship point money to the drivers. The Company looks forward to continuing to reward drivers, while also keeping costs in check. “We’ve done a pretty good job, along with our partners in containing the cost of engines and tires,” stated Lester.
