ULTIMATE SOUTHEAST SLATED FOR 28 DATES IN 2019 ANCHORED BY VMS BIGGIES

CARNESVILLE, GA - The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Southeast Region released the working schedule for the Series’ ninth season of competition in 2019 today. The slate includes 21 confirmed dates along with 7 dates that are to be announced in the next few weeks. As in recent years the series opens its season in early March at the 1/3rd mile North Georgia Speedway and the series will again close out the year at Sylvania, Georgia’s Screven Motor Speedway in November.

The ULTIMATE SE schedule is also once again highlighted with a pair of $20,000 to win events at Bill Sawyer’s immaculate Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The Aaron’s King of the Commonwealth is set for Saturday, April 20th while Ernie Shelton’s 43rd Annual USA 100 presented by WhosYourDriver.org will be Saturday, June 15that the Mid-Atlantic region half-mile oval. Both events will be one-day shows with 60 lap features.

New to the ULTIMATE venue line-up for 2019 will be the Scott Tripp owned and promoted Lake View Motor Speedway. The 4/10ths of a mile facility is located in Nichols, South Carolina. Also returning to the schedule after several years’ absence will be Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, North Carolina along with Patriot’s Park Raceway (formerly known as 441 Speedway) in Dublin, Georgia. The series only previous visit to Friendship was rained out in May of 2013 while the only previous visit to Patriot’s Park was in June 2012 when Casey Roberts picked up one of his series-leading 20 career wins.

Series officials are awaiting finalization of the dates that are listed TBA in the initial schedule release. “We are waiting on all the final pieces to fall into place to announce all of our TBA events. We actually have tracks for our TBA dates. It’s not something that we are hoping to book. With racing season lasting nearly year-round, it takes a little extra time to get some things firmed up for some of our promoters. We anticipate announcing dates at some new venues as well as some returns to some of our previous host facilities. But we wanted to get our schedule out as early as possible for teams to make plans and so we could make any tweaks that may become necessary. I have been very pleased with the number of date requests that we have received for 2019. We have also been encouraged with the number of drivers inquiring about our 2019 season with eyes on chasing our point championship.” said ULTIMATE SE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

ZACK MITCHELL CAPTURES ULTIMATE SOUTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIP; HARDY TAKES ROOKIE HONORS

CARNESVILLE, GA - Zack Mitchell of Enoree, South Carolina claimed the 2018 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Championship by way of a third place finish in the season finale at Screven Motor Speedway. Mitchell's finish, two spots in front of 2018 Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the Year presented by Cruise with the Champions, Kyle Hardy, forced a tie atop the ULTIMATE standings. Mitchell, having wins at Laurens County Speedway and Lancaster Speedway, won the tie breaker over Hardy who did not have any wins during the 2018 campaign.

The season-long battle saw Mitchell, Hardy and Joey Coulter battle for the points lead leading up to the series finale at Screven, the weekend before Thanksgiving.

While Mitchell began the season with two finishes outside of the top 10, at North Georgia and Virginia Motor Speedway, he caught fire, finishing inside the top 10 in the remaining 12 races of 2018. His two aforementioned wins were part of 7 top 5 finishes, which included three in a row to close out the 2018 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series season.

"Zack had a tremendous run to end the season with 12 top 10s in a row," said FASTRAK Companies International General Manager DJ Irvine, "In the end, we saw exactly how valuable getting to victory lane can be, this was a tight points battle and came down to the tiebreaker. I am honored to have Zack Mitchell and his entire team as our 2018 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Champion."

Mitchell will be honored as the 2018 ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series champion at the annual Night of Champions banquet in January. Details about the banquet, which is open to anyone who wishes to attend, will be announced in the coming days.

MOTHER NATURE STRIKES AGAIN; CROSSVILLE ULTIMATE EVENT POSTPONED

CROSSVILLE, TN - Officials of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series and Crossville Speedway have made the difficult decision to postpone Friday's $4000 to win Thunder on the Plateau event. Local forecasts are calling for up to 90% chance of rain Thursday night and most of the day on Friday. "This is a real shame. We really wanted to have this show. But we have been hit hard by weather all year long. We are going to try and find a good date to reschedule it." said Crossville Promoter Lewis Jackson.

"Mother Nature just won’t give us a break. We have had so many rainouts and we hate to have another. But with that high of a percentage of rain we have to be realistic and look out for our teams and fans by making an early decision. It stinks all the way around because we had a lot of really good cars coming and Crossville is an awesome racetrack. But we are going to try and find a date that will work for everyone to make it up. We will just have to look forward to Senoia next week and hope for some good weather." said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

Going into next week's event at Senoia Raceway the Series still has a super tight point race among the top 3 drivers with only 21 points separating 3rd from the lead. The Senoia Raceway event will pay $4000 to win for the 40 lapper on the gray gumbo. Along with a full card of racing Senoia will also be having a waterless boat race which is always popular and exciting for fans. Keep an eye on www.senoiaraceway.com for full details and ticket information.

CLINT SMITH GOES TO ULTIMATE VICTORY LANE AT DIXIE SPEEDWAY

WOODSTOCK, GA – Clint Smith of Senoia, Georgia has many laps around the 3/8ths mile Dixie Speedway but Saturday during the 40 lap ULTIMATE Super Late Model feature the former national touring star may have made 40 of his best. Smith fought off repeated challenges from perennial Dixie favorite Michael Page to capture his first career ULTIMATE Series victory. The victory was worth $4,000.

Page made his way to second on the opening lap and averted disaster on the initial attempt at starting when he and several other cars went spinning into turn 1. After that near miss Smith was able to navigate his way to a 0.754 second victory over Page.

Former Series Champion Dennis Franklin charged his way forward from his 23rd starting position to come home 14th and take the PPM Hard Charger Award. Smith had a perfect evening as he also picked up the Davis Diesel Service Fast Time Award with a lap of 15.759 seconds in VP Race Fuels Race for the Pole Qualifying. DUSTIN MITCHELL DRIVES TO FIRST CAREER ULTIMATE SOUTHEAST VICTORY AT COUNTY LINE RACEWAY

ELM CITY, NC - Taking advantage of race long leader Gary Dillon's slip entering turn one on lap 29 Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, North Carolina grabbed the lead and went on to lead the final eleven circuits to collect $4,000 for his first career Ultimate Super Late Model Series Southeast Region win. Mitchell, who won a B-Main and started from the eleventh spot, was followed to the line by a hard charging Justin Williams who started in the eighth position. Daulton Wilson, Joey Coulter, and Michael Batten rounded out the top five finishers.

Dillon grabbed the lead on the initial start with Michael Batten in tow. Outside pole sitter Kyle Hardy appeared to spin his tires on the start causing him to slip back to fourth on lap one. After a lap one yellow Dillon resumed the lead and had no serious challengers for the first several circuits and through three yellow flags. But by the time the lap 28 caution waved Mitchell had positioned himself in the second spot for the restart. ULTIMATE EVENT AT NORTH GEORGIA SPEEDWAY POSTPONED TO NOVEMBER 10TH

CHATSWORTH, GA - Officials of both the North Georgia Speedway and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series have made the decision to postpone their event scheduled for this Saturday, May 19th. The event will be rescheduled to Saturday, November 10th and will be North Georgia’s Annual Turkey Rumble event. The event will still be a $4000 to win / 40 lap event at the 1/3rd mile oval located in Chatsworth, Georgia.

“After seeing the forecast for the week I talked to Kelley (Carlton ULTIMATE Series Director) on Saturday about looking for some reschedule options. He sent me some potential dates and one of them was November 10th which was already scheduled as our Turkey Rumble event. I thought that this is really a win-win situation given the terrible forecast and the fact that we want to continue to grow that event. So even if by some miracle the weather changes or avoids us it still makes sense for us to make this move.” said North Georgia Speedway Promoter Chip Burke.

“When Chip called and we looked at our options I think it was the smartest move we could make. There have been some events added this weekend that are in the region too. That gets us away from those dates as well so it is for sure the best business decision we can make for everyone involved. The forecast is calling for 100% chance of rain on Friday and 90% chance on Saturday. And there are high percentages there basically all week. We definitely think this is the right call to make.” Carlton said.

In other ULTIMATE Series Schedule news the event scheduled for Friday, June 15th at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Virginia has been removed from the schedule after the sale of the facility fell through. The current ownership has no plans to schedule any events at the facility.

SUNDAY ULTIMATE EVENT AT ROME SPEEDWAY SCRAPPED; DIXIE STILL ON GO

WOODSTOCK, GA – Officials of Rome Speedway along with ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Officials have made the decision to scrap the 2nd half of a doubleheader weekend at Rome Speedway which was scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd. “The grounds of Rome are still heavily saturated from all the rain the area has gotten the last several days. Sunday's forecast is calling for a 100% chance of more significant rain. We just think it makes sense to make the call now to help everyone to avoid additional travel expenses. “Everything is still 100% on go for the $4000 to win event at Dixie on Saturday.” said Dixie and Rome’s Mia Green.

“It seems that Dirt Late Model Racing just can’t catch a break with the weather right now. We were blessed last weekend but others weren’t. This weekend we get hit with it again. But at least things look good for Dixie on Saturday. I hate it for everyone. It was going to be a nice doubleheader weekend with limited travel between and two opportunities for teams to make some money. But we can’t change the weather so we will just be thankful that there is a good forecast for Dixie. I appreciate that the Swims family wanted to make the call early enough that people would be able to adapt their plans and save them some expense.” Added ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

The Dixie event will present round four for the Ultimate Southeast Tour. In two completed events this season Michael Page and Jonathan Davenport have both scored victories. MyRacePass will also keep track of the series point standings as drivers compete for the $10,000 to win 2018 FASTRAK Racing Series Championship throughout the season. Additionally, drivers can claim their profiles on MyRacePass and update their bios and accomplishments.

“We’re excited to be able to enhance the fan, driver and staff experience on their race day,” continued Krug, “The entire team at MyRacePass is honored to have a partnership with FASTRAK that will allow us to deliver late model fans and drivers an entirely new race day experience they have never seen before. ULTIMATE SERIES SET TO LIFT THE LID ON 2018 AT NORTH GEORGIA SPEEDWAY MARCH 3RD

CARNESVILLE, GA - The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will open its 8th season of competition on Saturday, March 3rd just as it has the previous 3 seasons with a 40 lap / $4000 to win event at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia. The 1/3 mile oval promoted by Chip Burke has been a staple facility for the series since 2012. In last year’s event 31 drivers entered in search of the $4000 payday. In the end it was Evans, Georgia superstar Brandon Overton, who was making only his 3rd start in the Chip Stone owned team managed by veteran Randy Weaver, when he rallied from his 5th starting position to capture his first career ULTIMATE Series victory

The 2018 edition comes with high anticipation amongst fans, drivers and officials. “North Georgia has always been one of my favorite tracks we visit. They have a great fan base there and the facility has an old school racing feel to it. The trackside parking and family atmosphere just take me back to my early days of going to a racetrack as a kid. The racing at NGS is always a mixed bag. Sometimes it is lightning quick and other times slick and slow but the racing never seems to disappoint. And the staff there has always been phenomenal to work with. It is always cool to see who shows up and who decides to throw their hat in the ring and chase our points.” said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

North Georgia will also hold an open practice from 7 to 10 PM on Friday night for drivers to come in and shake down their machines. The gates are scheduled to open at 4 PM for the practice night. “After the off-season we wanted to offer everyone a chance to check everything out and be ready to come out and put on a show for our fans on Saturday. We look forward to this event every year. We always draw a good group of cars and some of our largest crowds of the season. We are ready to get it on.” added Burke.

Some drivers expected to be on hand at North Georgia include 2-time Series Champion Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, South Carolina, 3-time Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia; defending Champion and Rookie of the Year Tyler Millwood of Kingston, Georgia; 2015 ULTIMATE Series Rookie of the Year Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, North Carolina; Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, Florida; Zack Mitchell of Enoree, South Carolina along with 2018 DirtonDirt.com Rookie of the Year presented by Cruise With the Champions candidates Kyle Hardy of Stevens, Virginia and Jeff Mathews of Apollo Beach, Florida. Other drivers expected to be in action at North Georgia include Jason Hiett of Oxford, Alabama; Chatsworth’s own Derek Ellis; 2017 ULTIMATE Championship runner-up Jason Welshan of Maryville, Tennessee and Ooltewah, Tennessee’s Riley Hickman.

North Georgia Speedway is located at 300 North Georgia Raceway Road in Chatsworth, Georgia. Saturday the pit gates are set to open at 2 PM while the grand stands will open at 4. Drivers meeting is set for 5:30 PM with racing to follow at 6. Saturday admission: Grandstands - Adults - $20.00, Kids (ages 6-11) - $10.00 and Kids 5 and under – FREE. Pit Admission: Adults - $35.00, Kids (ages 6-11) - $15.00 and Kids 5 and under – FREE. Spectator Fence Parking: $20.00 per night or $125.00 for the year. NGS will also host an open practice on Friday night, March 2nd from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. March 2nd admission: Pits - $20.00 and Grandstands – FREE. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. To help save on fuel costs, all drivers and crews are welcome to leave their trailers / equipment and / or stay in their rigs (on the premises) Friday night after practice to keep from having to drive back and forth. Racing Action starts at 6:00 p.m.

The ULTIMATE Series tire rule for the event is as follows: All four corners choose from American Racer compounds 48 or 56 or Hoosier compounds 1350 or 1600. Any 70 will also be allowed as an option on the right rear only.

$100,000 IN ADDITIONAL MEDICAL INSURANCE AVAILABLE FOR ALL ULTIMATE SUPER LATE MODEL SERIES MEMBERS IN 2018

CARNESVILLE, GA - FASTRAK Companies International, parent company of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series, has reached a deal to offer members with $100,000 in participant accident medical insurance through Mutual of Omaha. Members will be able to purchase the policy for a $25 premium.

“I’ve worked for years to get our drivers something like this to make the ULTIMATE membership even more worthwhile,” stated ULTIMATE Founder Stan Lester, “This gives us the ability to offer our drivers another level of protection when they are at the race track.”

The insurance policy is available to all drivers in all ULTIMATE regions; Battle of the Bluegrass, Mid-Ohio Valley, and Northeast. The policy will cover drivers at all ULTIMATE sanctioned events, as well as any FASTRAK sanctioned event.

Drivers will also be able to insure their crew members for an additional $20 per person. Drivers will need to provide ULTIMATE with the names of any crew members they wish to insure, along with payment when they submit their 2018 membership form.

“This is big for our members,” said FASTRAK Companies International General Manager DJ Irvine, “Our sport is inherently dangerous, so to be able to put this program in place to give drivers and their families more protection is a step in the right direction.”

The insurance is a secondary policy that will pay benefits from losses or injuries incurred while at the race track, after the individual’s primary medical policy. The policy will begin to pay benefits once an individual’s primary insurance has responded to the claim. The policy also includes up to $10,000 for Accidental Death and Specific Loss which is outlined in the explanation of benefits that will be made available to drivers.

FASTRAK COMPANIES INTERNATIONAL GEARS UP FOR 15TH YEAR IN BUSINESS

CARNESVILLE, GA - When the green flag flies on February 9, 2018 at Screven Motor Speedway, FASTRAK Companies International will be entering its 15th year in business. It all started because Stan Lester, FASTRAK founder, knew that the highest costs in late model racing were the engines and tires. With the idea that those costs could be controlled, the corporation was formed late in 2003 and held its first ever race, with five cars, on April 3, 2004 at Winder Barrow Speedway in Winder, GA. It was then that the idea by Lester came to fruition.

“All five cars piled up in turn one after the white flag,” said Lester, “The track owner asked me, having never directed a race in my life, “What are you going to do?”, I told the drivers that the first one back to the finish line was the winner. You have never seen such a crazy dash to the finish in your life. It was a humble beginning to say the least.”

During that 2004 season FASTRAK saw tremendous growth. The second event had 18 cars, the third had 22, and the final race of the inaugural season had 51 cars at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Pooler, GA.

The very next season saw the birth of the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Region. Sticking with the initial mission of controlling the two most expensive components in racing, engines and tires, FASTRAK now uses the Chevrolet Performance CT 400 (604) engine, an affordable engine that offers 450 horsepower. FASTRAK has worked side by side with Chevrolet Performance to ensure that the engine remains affordable and dependable. To address the costs associated with tires, FASTRAK worked with Hoosier Tire to develop the FT Crate Spec tires known as the FT 200 and FT 400. The FT tires are the cheapest and best performing crate spec tires currently on the market.

“We have stuck to our original mission statement of controlling the cost of the engines and tires, and the 604 and 602 crate engines have met and exceeded all expectations, along with the FT Crate Spec tires” said Lester.

In 2011 the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series was born with the Southeast Region. ULTIMATE itself has since expanded into three more regions, the Battle of the Bluegrass, Mid-Ohio Valley, and Northeast. In total, FASTRAK Companies International now has six regions of dirt late model tours along with its Weekly Sanctioning of tracks throughout the eastern part of the United States. All parts of the FASTRAK family of racing, have a common goal; help tracks make money and give back to the drivers. The following Tuesday after any FASTRAK or ULTIMATE race, the regional director contacts the track with once simple question, “Did you make money?”.

“Our goal is simple,” stated FASTRAK General Manager DJ Irvine, “help tracks make money with successful events, give back to the drivers, and make certain the fans make memories at the race track.”

Over the course of the past 14 years, FASTRAK Companies International has paid out over $4,300,000 in Championship point money to the drivers. The Company looks forward to continuing to reward drivers, while also keeping costs in check. “We’ve done a pretty good job, along with our partners in containing the cost of engines and tires,” stated Lester.
