Free Video Stream Announced for King of the Commonwealth
One of the biggest Dirt Late Model events of the season in the Southeast is set to be showcased to a worldwide audience via a free live broadcast Saturday night, April 20. In a combined effort with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series, FASTRAK Racing Series and Virginia Motor Speedway, the King of the Commonwealth will be streamed live on Speed51.com.
While the live broadcast will showcase the event to those unable to make it to the track, there is nothing like being at the race track to experience the dirt-slinging action first hand. Fans in the area are encouraged to attend the event in person in order to feel all of the senses that come with attending a major event such as the King of the Commonwealth.
This one-time free broadcast from Virginia Motor Speedway has been made possible by a handful of dedicated track sponsors including Atlantic Broadband, Collision One, Northern Neck Chevrolet, Tire X of Richmond, Truckin Thunder and WhosYourDriver.org.
Speed51.com, “The Official Video Home of FASTRAK and ULTIMATE,” has also helped make the free broadcast possible in an effort to show their dedication to covering regional Dirt Late Model racing throughout the country.
“We’re very excited to partner with everybody involved to showcase Virginia Motor Speedway to a worldwide audience on the free live broadcast,” said VMS Director of Marketing Dave Seay. “With the $50,000 FASTRAK World Championship coming up in September, this is a great opportunity for us to show off the great racing and the great facility we have here at our track in Jamaica, Virginia.”
DJ Irvine, the General Manager of ULTIMATE and FASTRAK, is equally excited about showcasing both brands of racing – Super Late Models and Pro Late Models – to a worldwide audience.
“We are excited to team up with Speed51 to bring the King of the Commonwealth as a free event on their network,” Irvine stated. “This will give race fans the opportunity to see the outstanding quality of their productions as well as the exciting side-by-side racing of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series and the FASTRAK Racing Series.”
Saturday’s free broadcast of the King of the Commonwealth builds on Speed51’s increased coverage of regional Dirt Late Model racing. Throughout the year, the Speed51 Network will be the home for select live race broadcasts, highlights, recaps and more for ULTIMATE and FASTRAK. Select pay-per-view broadcasts will also be made available throughout the year on Speed51.com.
“This is shaping up to be another awesome event at Virginia Motor Speedway, and we invite everyone to join us at the track for a great night of racing,” said Speed51 President Bob Dillner. “We take great pride in being able to team up with ULTIMATE, FASTRAK and Virginia Motor Speedway for this free broadcast of the King of the Commonwealth. We want to show the short track racing world that we’re here to cover it all. Pavement or dirt, it doesn’t matter.”
With both Dirt Late Model national touring series taking the weekend off, many of the nation’s top drivers are expected to join the best in the Southeast for the $20,000-to-win ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series main event.
Additionally, the $3,000-to-win FASTRAK Racing Series event will provide teams with an opportunity to prepare for the $50,000-to-win FASTRAK World Championship on September 14 at Virginia Motor Speedway.
The free live broadcast of the King of the Commonwealth is made possible as a result of support from Collision One, Northern Neck Chevrolet, Tire X of Richmond, Truckin Thunder and WhosYourDriver.org.
